The Interrogation of Eliar Peake
Saturday October 28
Heading Back to the Manor
With their captive in tow, the Guardians head back toward the Vanderboren Manor. Silver realizes that Fortis never exited the building, but everyone else seems too preoccupied about getting the prisoner back to the Manor for questioning.
The group makes their way back across the Sunrise District but pause when they get to the bridge dividing it from the Merchant District, their intended destination. Silver and Arn, carrying the Sea Harpy wrapped in a tarp, cross the bridge with no problems, but Seeker and Moonscar anticipate trouble from the guards due to their Canine heritage.
Tricking the Guards
The two come up with a plan that involves Moonscar, under the guise of his Obscurement Scar, chasing the 9'2" Seeker across the bridge. The ruse works and Seeker gets past Sunrise Watch as they focus their attention on Moonscar, who appears to them as a raving homeless person intent on eating the giant Wolfen. The Watchman approaches and manages to grab Moonscar, throwing him into the nearby canal. Moonscar, only too happy to be out of the situation, plays along and cannonballs into the water screaming "CAN'T CATCH A SEA HARPY!"
Seeker experiences some difficulty with the Merchant Watch on the other side of the bridge but manages to avoid any trouble by talking about looking for labor or mercenary work. The guards buy his story and tell him to get on to where he is headed to.
Finally back at the Manor, the group ties the Sea Harpy to a chair in a windowless room and begin to interrogate him. Arn starts in heavy on him, threatening him with Lefty and breaking things. The thug, Eliar Peake, breaks easily and the information begins flowing. He tells them everything they want to know about the Sea Harpies and their connections in the city. He describes their hierarchy and divulges all the information about their secret hideout beneath Dead Dog Alley. He even draws a map for everyone to see.
After a round of questions and clarifications led by the lunatic Moonscar, Eliar is released, as promised and the group begins planning their next step. It is clear that Vanthus, Lavinia's wayward brother, is highly tangled up with these Sea Harpies and probably holed up with them in the their hideout.
