Beer Run

The Gold Goblin crew hurries down to the docks to find the Foamrunner and secure the shipment of exotic liquor, but when they finally arrive, they see they are too late. The Dwarf captain of the Foamrunner is already doing business with some other folk. Aethel quickly tries to talk to the Captain but the other men try to shut him out and claim that they are from the Gold Goblin and this is their shipment. The Captain quickly excuses himself from the conversation, not wanting to be any part of a 'Riddleport gang war' and gets back on his ship. After another moment of arguing, the inevitable fight breaks out. The battle is short but fierce, with several of the group taking serious wounds. The leader of the rivals, a tough by the name Old Korvosa, had been killed and in questioning one of the other thugs, they find out they had been sent by Zincher but were under the impression that the liquor was theirs and that the 'Gold Goblin Goons' would be coming to try to steal it. The group quickly cleaned up the mess, grabbed salvage off the beaten foes and pulled the cart quickly back to the Gold Goblin.
Continuing Story Summary
Back at the Goblin, they learn that the thug they tangled with was one of Clegg Zinchers capps named Braddikar Faje, who goes by the nickname Old Korvosa due to his time spent as a City Watch in that city far to the south. Snargash wants to take the fight directly to Zincher, but Saul cautions against it. Instead, Snargash comes up with a plan to spread propaganda about Zincher and his men by singing about it to the crowds at the Goblin and on the streets. Shayla has her armor enchanted and the spoils of the battle are taken care of and business continues as usual at the Goblin.

Clearing the Books
Session Summary
The fight through Smeed's house is concluded and a search is conduted as the Half-Orc neighborhood watch bangs on the outside doors. No signs of Larur are found anywhere in the place. Back at the Gold Goblin, the strong box is searched and Saul identifies the pouch that his payment for Smeed was in, though there is no record of the payment in Smeed's ledger. Saul points out that Smeed had been writing down incorrect payments for him in the past as well. The next few days are spent with a low profile, to avoid any problems with the recent killing of the moneylender. Saul finally decides that Larur is gone, either dead or left town, as he has been gone for too long. He gives the group raises and promotes Aethel to floor manager of the casino.
Continuing Story Summary
The group further discusses the missing Dwarf as well as the inner workings of Riddleport politics, particularly regarding the late Lymas Smeed, his apparent connection with Boss Croat, a Half-Orc crime lord, and how the Gold Goblin fits into it all. A messenger boy arrives and gives Saul a message. He then sends the group on an errand down to the docks to pick up an expensive shipment of alcohol that he had ordered for the tournament the previous week, but had apparently been delayed. Saul gives them the contract and proof of sale and the group rushes off to meet the captain of the Foamrunner to take delivery of the shipment.
