Grand Duchy of Adventure
Session 84April 13, 2016
Fires, Divine and Arcane
Tserdain 27th Yarthmont
Not wanting to be left out of any possible action inside the temple, Remar casts another flight spell, this on on himself, and flies up, over and into the temple. He helps his friends search the strange temple room with its dark, fire encircled pit, hanging cage and other interesting accouterments. After making sure the main chamber is clear of enemies, the group moves to the doors that lead back toward the front of the temple where their companions are waiting outside. It is evident that there is at least one more chamber between this space and the front door so the group moves toward and carefully opens the double doors leading that way.
The open doors reveal a room full of zombies, skeletons and possibly ghouls that turn as one toward the newly opened door. The door is slammed and held before any of the undead can make it close and the remainder of the Company holds the door while Draven summons a blast of divine fire to cleanse the unclean and undead. The divine fire blasts under the door and the sound of undead trying to claw their way through the stone door is diminished greatly, but not completely extinguished.
As the door is barred, suddenly Iris spots another horde of undead approaching from the northern end of the sanctuary. The company moves to engage, trying to use the layout of the room to their advantage. Remar, using his magical control of fire, pulls some of the flame from the center ring of fire and shapes it into a cloud that encompasses most of the undead, burning them where they stand.

Not all of the abominations are destroyed by the mages arcane fire and try to get around the far side of the pit. It seems as if they are moving toward one of the doors near the front of the temple, possibly to bring in the remaining undead from the entry area. Griffin moves to stop physically and Remar uses his magical bolts to slow them down while them while the others deal with the larger group to the left.
After quite a bit of fighting, there are no more moving creatures to be seen. Iris had been seriously bitten by one of the zombies, but Draven is able to heal her up with just a few short prayers. Knowing that the doors at the northern end of the northern end of the temple had all been closed just a few moments before, the group heads that way to investigate where this newest round of undead had come from
