More Tunnels

The newly rescued boy seems very unwilling to hole in the supply closet with Valinya and Silver and seems more comfortable moving forward with the rest of the group. With it decided that they whole group will stay together, Gorg leads on, holding the lantern out before him. Moving east Gorg sees that the passage turns into a veritable maze of passageways formed by numerous columns and walls of natural stone. To the right, heading to the southeast, a wider, main passage is visible. Sloshing water can be heard coming from all directions here. The smell of salt is strong in the air and those with more sensitive noses can detect the scent of the savage disease as well.

Seeker tries to engage the boy using his different languages, hoping to learn more of what transpired here at Kraken Cove.

Seeker finds out that the boy speaks the language of Western Man as his native tongue. His name is Ered and he is still quite scared, hurt and possibly in shock. He said he was a prisoner on a pirate ship for some time and recently arrived here. He knows nothing of the complex or even where he is as he has been kept either below decks or had a bag over his head otherwise. He is able to walk, though only slowly and not very steadily. He looks as if he could fall over at any moment.

Arn is becoming more irritable about these pirates. First they were killing animals and such, now taking children prisoner and all of these mutated folks? Messing with children is never okay with Arn Ironfist. Arn doesn’t say much at this time, he’s still recovering from his embarrassing defeat at the jaws of the giant lizard. For now the dour dwarf keeps his eyes and ears open and ready to redeem himself should combat come again.

Floating along, Valinya keeps an eye on the boy. Though she feels pity tug at her heart, there is a note of caution as well. He was the sole survivor in a cage filled with bodies. One could draw an ominous conclusion from that. There are some mind spells, she thought briefly, then shelved that notion for later. Aloud she said, “I certainly hope we get somewhere soon. I dislike these enclosed caves and diseases floating around.”
