The Sundered Lands of Palladium

Arriving in Essanos
October 25
Last Minute Preparations
On the last day at sea, Gorg tells them what he knows about the city, filling in some details for the group since the last time any of them had been there. They make a plan to secure a room at the Fox and Hound, a tavern near to where the Vanderboren estate lies. Seeker and Moonscar then plan to go exploring the docks and seedier parts of town in hopes of making some underworld contacts while the rest of the group investigates the manor house and tries to make contact with the blonde haired Vanderboren, Lavinia.
Moonscar hands out the magically imbued charms he had spent much of the voyage working on. He calls the first one a Chaperone Charms and explained that it was designed to ward off any ill effects, poisons or diseases associated with Demons. Happily each companion took theirs and donned them. It is a small, mangy tuft of some sort of fur or hair tied together with a string of blackened leather. The other charm he names the Warrior's Blessing and explains that, when activated, this charm will imbue the user with physical prowess. It is a gaudily painted hunk of bone of indeterminable origin.
It seems that this section of town is nice enough but filled with establishments that cater to the more carnal pleasures such as brothels, music halls, bath houses and taverns. The three Elf maids are called to on more than one occasion by "working girls" either looking for temporary friendship or co-workers. All requests are politely declined.
When the group finally arrives at the manor house, they find it under construction. It seems that someone has decided to start rebuilding the estate after the fire that burned it to the ground some 2 years ago. A stealthy flyby is made by Fortis. Inside the 7' high walls, he finds the manor house in the early stages of rebuilding and not at all in livable conditions. He spots a small, hastily constructed cottage nestled in the corner of the grounds and checks it out. The cottage is empty but shows that it has been lived in quite recently by someone of Gnome or Dwarf size and more than likely female.
After reporting back to his companions, they ask around and find out that the owner, Lavinia, has returned to the city recently, though without her parents, and began rebuilding her estate. She has been living with some family friends, the Davendows, nearby on Stirge Street.

Landfall in Essanos
The Tiny Titan finally makes landfall in the city of Essanos and after a short discussion with the Harbormaster's scribe, they split up and start trying to track down the information they are looking for. Seeker and Moonscar explore the docks to the west but only manage to find shops and guildhalls and market places. Eventually they realize they will have to take a boat across to the Shadowshore District in order to really find the underbelly of Essanos. The docks of Essanos |
The Elf Arnette
Valinya and Silver, who has adopted her Elf maid form, lead Arn, who is also in Elf maid form thanks to an Illusion Disguise from Fortis, through the Merchant District. They take a roundabout path, trying to get a sense of this part of town before arriving at the Vanderboren manor. Fortis follows the group at a distance, trying to fly casual, but not too casual. It seems that this section of town is nice enough but filled with establishments that cater to the more carnal pleasures such as brothels, music halls, bath houses and taverns. Splitting up Again
Fortis and Valinya then decide they are going to head to the Noble District and check out the local mages guild, the Witchwardens, while Silver and Arn, now jokingly renamed Arnette, are to head to the Fox and Hound to secure lodging for the group. Everyone plans to meet back at the inn by dinner time at the latest. The city of Essanos |
